Elk Archery (September)—9 Days, Rifle (October)—8 Days All our hunts are fully guided with one or two hunters per guide. You will leave one of our base camps by taking a 2 to 4 hour horseback ride to your location. Once you reach your remote spike camp, it is just you and your guide. The camps provide you with the best accommodations possible, while still keeping with a wilderness setting. Guests will have separate sleeping tent that is furnished with a cots, foam pads, and a wood stove. While you are at your camp, a full-time cook is on location to prepare your meals. Saddle horses are available to get you to the best hunting locations before daybreak. One Guide to Two Hunters $5000/Hunter One Guide to One Hunter $6500/Hunter | Black Bear (Spring and Fall) Black bears of many color variations are hunted by glass and stalk methods or over baits. With the openness of the terrain and horses, accessing high meadows in low snow pact years is very successful for spot and stalk bear hunting. Quality optics and good physical conditioning increase your odds of success with this method. In more heavily timbered areas, bait hunting is utilized and access is by ATVs. These hunts are less physically demanding and the success rate is very high. Both methods may be employed from some camps. You can begin your trip next spring by flying into our backcountry airstrip from Missoula, Montana. The hunt will then go on for 7 days, Sunday through Saturday, as you travel through the woods looking for your bear. One Guide to Two Hunters $2000/Hunter Father & Youth $3000/Pair Spot & Stalk (Pack-in) $2500/Hunter
| Mountain Lion (November through March) You have the opportunity to hunt mountain lions from the backcountry of Idaho with Cayuse Outfitting. Trophy toms are generally taken on our lion hunts. During the winter months, we use snow machines, ATVs, hunting afoot, or snowshoes to pursue lions. After a long day of hunting you ride snow machines to get back to base camp. The lion hunt lasts 7 days, with just 2 hunters in every group. We suggest you are in excellent physical condition before embarking on this journey. We look forward to seeing you on the hunt.
